Cheer America Nationals
This weekend was Cheer America Nationals at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. I attended as both a coach and as team doctor for our junior and senior level teams. One of the girls from one of our teams sprained her ankle pretty severely during her school squads warm-up and she was able to perform full out with a combination of ice, compression, elevation and a very secure tape job prior to her performance. When she finished we rotated the ice every 20 minutes in conjunction with the compression and elevation and taped her again for her second performance of the day. She was a real trooper and received my kudos for a job well done. Here is a picture of the ankle taping in progress.
