ACHY JOINTS BECOME MORE PREVALENT IN THE US

Knee PainAn article in Health.com states that the prevalence of achy joint pain is in a rise in the US.  This is attributed to the resultant rise in obesity.  They state that the percentage of people catagorized as obese with achy joint pain is 30%, while the percantage of overweight people with joint pain is 20% and the percentage of normal weight people with joint pain is 17%. One of the contribiting factors to arthritis is obesity as it puts a greater stress on the weight bearing structures of the body and the cushioning tissues such as the cartilage of the spine, hips, and knees.   Some of the benefits of the chiropractic adjustment is that it can help free up range of motion of otherwise “stuck” or “frozen” joints.  Which can lead to normal gait and allow the joint to self lubricate itself resulting in increased nutrient perfusion of the joint.  If you know someone with these types of pains tell them to call to schedule an appointment today! CDC: Achy Joints on the Rise in U.S. via Health.com
